Aside from the major chains you'd find in any city, Lafayette and West Lafayette are home to some truly unique restaurants where you can find great food and drinks and be a part of the local culture. We're sure you'll discover your own favorite places, but in case you are visiting for the first time or just moved in recently, we've put together a list of our own suggestions to help you decide where to eat.
Adelino's Old World Kitchen
A fun but relaxed dining experience, Adelino's serves Mediterranean style tapas. This restaurant is known for its sangria, served by the pitcher, and delicious homemade gelato.

A Lafayette staple, the Checkerboard is a traditional bar with a varied menu. A local place where you might meet a friend or an old friend from out of town.

La Scala Italian Restaurant
Ask for an outdoor table on the patio to take in Lafayette's downtown life and enjoy a great view of the courthouse. La Scala has also done a wonderful job maintaining the interior of their historic building. Excellent Italian food.
